| Welcome to my home... page. (Visiting my home comes later.) BIO I make my home in Columbus, Ohio, having recently returned from Denver where I am in the process of completing a Master of Theological Studies degree at the Iliff School of Theology. Since 1992 I have immersed myself in my identity as a musician, specializing in both folk/traditional and liturgical music. I have been a writer since the age of 14 and have in the past few years begun to find pleasure in visual arts, recently exploring floral arranging and computer-generated graphics. In December of 2000 my SATB choral arrangement of The Gower Wassail was performed by Harmony: a Colorado chorale. I am primarily a singer, but I play a Martin D-28 12-string; three fretted (a.k.a. mountain, lap, or Appalachian) dulcimers; an Autoharp; whistles and pipes of various sorts; and sundry "shakey things." Though I am a born performer, my guiding principle is a quotation by Pete Seeger: "I'd rather put a song on people's lips than in their ears." Growing up, I had planned to be a writer, but then music chose me, as, later, did formal study of theology. These days I answer the Muse in a variety of ways. I am a pantheist Pagan, by which labels I mean that I draw my most important religious symbols from the body of the Earth, holding the cosmos as sacred--a significant departure from my religous past in which I held the world to be contrary to God... now I think of the World--Mother Earth, literally, as the Goddess. Through my studies of theology, religion, pastoral counseling, and spirituality during my two years at the Iliff School of Theology, I have begun developing a specialty in counseling Pagan clergy. As the Pagan movement matures, its spiritual leaders will find themselves facing more and more of the issues confronting leaders in more established religious paradigms. A former card-carrying member of the Moral Majority and the Great Commission Association of Churches cult, I came out as gay on July 8, 1988 and have worked as a professional gay rights activist as a part of my coming home more authentically to my self. I am single and not averse to finding a life partner... I have been involved in both Paganism and Unitarian Universalism since 1993 and am a former member of the board of trustees of the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans-continental. I am currently a member of the Unitarian Universalist Musicians Network. I met and identified with the tribe of Radical Faeries in 1994, and it was from that experience that my name Khrysso Heart LeFey grew. Khrysso became my legal name in October of 2000. I have been making ritual and liturgy happen formally in one way or another since 1974. My religious background includes Roman Catholicism, evangelicalism, ecumenical Protestantism, and my current paths. |
